The story

When this Park City family bought their 1990s mountain home, the kitchen still had the original dark oak cabinets, chipped laminate counters and a rusted fridge tucked into a tight U-shape that closed the room off from the living area. We took the kitchen down to the studs, removed the wall separating it from the great room, and rebuilt it as a bright, open mountain-modern hub. Custom white shaker cabinets pair with a knotty alder island and brass hardware. A 10-foot quartz waterfall island anchors the room, framed by three brass dome pendants and a herringbone marble backsplash that climbs to a custom wood range hood. Wide-plank European oak floors run continuously into the living area, and a new picture window pulls in views of the Wasatch back. The result is a kitchen that finally matches the mountain — and the way this family actually entertains.

Scope of work

FAQ

How long did this Park City kitchen remodel take?+

Eleven weeks from demo to final walkthrough. We sequenced cabinet ordering at design approval to keep the schedule tight despite a load-bearing wall removal.

Did you have to pull permits for the wall removal?+

Yes. Summit County required a structural permit and engineered drawings for the LVL beam. We handle all permitting in-house so the homeowner never had to set foot at the county office.

What did this remodel cost?+

This project landed in the $145–175k range, which is typical for a high-end Park City kitchen of this size with appliance package and structural work included.

Can you match this style on a smaller budget?+

Absolutely. The biggest cost drivers here were the appliance package, slab waterfall island and structural work. We regularly deliver the same mountain-modern feel in the $70–95k range with stock cabinet upgrades and a single-slab island.
